Feion Villodas, PhD, MPH, is a clinical psychologist, professor, and leader in culturally informed psychological research, mentorship, and graduate student development. Her work centers on advancing equity in mental health, designing and implementing culturally tailored evidence-based strategies, and supporting the academic and professional development of underrepresented students.

About Feion Villodas, PhD
Feion Villodas is a clinical psychologist and educator recognized for her commitment to diversity, equity, and culturally responsive practice. She serves as a Professor in the Department of Psychology at San Diego State University and as the Director of Graduate Student Diversity, where she provides leadership in inclusive student support and professional development. In these roles, she brings her clinical expertise and public health background to bear on systemic and interpersonal determinants of well-being.
Dr. Villodas’s work emphasizes culturally tailored, evidence-based approaches that advance mental and behavioral health equity for Black, Latinx, and other historically underserved communities. She has extensive experience developing and implementing interventions to address disparities in educational and health outcomes, and she mentors and supervises trainees and early career clinicians to deepen their skill and cultural awareness.
In addition to her university leadership, Dr. Villodas is a clinical supervisor in the SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology, supporting doctoral trainees in one of the nation’s highly regarded clinical psychology programs. Her influence spans research, teaching, mentorship, and community-engaged practice.
