Giulia Altera, PhD

Dr. Giulia Altera is an internationally recognized IEEFT Trainer in Emotionally Focused Therapy. A Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, and Certified ICEEFT Trainer, Supervisor, and Therapist, she brings a unique blend of clinical, cross-cultural experience, and transformative teaching to EFT communities worldwide. She is also an internationally certified Schema Therapist (ISST) and has advanced training in the treatment of trauma and dissociative disorders (ISSTD).

Co-founder of EFT Italia and Director of the EFT North Italy Center, Giulia leads trainings across Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, shaping the development of emerging communities and strengthening established ones. Her early career in forensic psychology — working in high-security prisons and psychiatric facilities — grounds her clinical vision in a profound understanding of human survival, attachment, and change.

She has contributed to the translation of seminal EFT works, including Hold Me Tight, authored several chapters on the model, and is a  speaker at international conferences.

Fluent in Italian, English, and Portuguese, Giulia supports therapists and clients around the world in creating deeper emotional connection and lasting relational transformation.
