Stefanie Carnes, Ph.D., is the president of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals and a senior fellow at The Meadows where she works with clients struggling with sexuality and intimacy issues such as compulsive and addictive sexual behaviors, infidelity, sexual trauma, and sexual assault. She is the clinical architect for Willow House, a treatment program for women struggling with sex, love, and intimacy disorders. Dr. Carnes is a clinical sexologist, licensed marriage and family therapist and an AAMFT-approved supervisor. She is also the author of numerous publications including her books Mending a Shattered Heart: A Guide for Partners of Sex Addicts, Facing Heartbreak: Steps to Recovery for Partners of Sex Addicts, and Facing Addiction: Starting Recovery from Alcohol and Drugs. Her latest book is called Courageous Love: A Couples Guide to Conquering Betrayal.
